It's been a season of shifting numbers across our Southern Alberta markets—something I always keep an eye on to help my clients make informed decisions. In August, home prices took a dip year-over-year in every Greater Calgary community: Okotoks saw a 1.8% decrease (now averaging $608,400), Calgary itself dropped by 1.1%, Airdrie fell 4.5%, Cochrane was down 2.3%, Chestermere dropped 1.6%, and High River also slipped by 1.1%. As someone who calls this region home and is deeply invested in these communities, I know these changes can spark questions and maybe even a little uncertainty. My approach is always to offer clear, honest perspective—whether you're considering a move, curious about your home's value, or just like staying in the loop. Real estate is personal, and understanding these market trends is a key part of feeling confident in your next steps.
